The Fenway
It is a must to visit Fenway Park, home to the Boston Red Sox, when living in Boston. Attend a game and sing along to “Sweet Caroline” during the 8th inning with the other Boston fans. Surrounding Fenway Park there are numerous restaurants and bars to go to before or after a game. The restaurants and bars in the Fenway area are the second best place to view a game other than being in the ballpark. Fenway is a great place to be even if you aren’t a baseball fan.
Longwood Medical Area
Home to three of the top hospitals in the country, and Harvard Medical School, Longwood Medical Area is a busy, exciting place. It is a very easy area to access with multiple bus and T lines running through it. The Longwood area has plenty of places to grab a coffee and a quick meal. Bring your lunch over to the beautiful Medical School quad and relax while enjoying your food.
Harvard Square
There is never a dull moment in Harvard Square in Cambridge. Separated from downtown Boston by the Charles River, Cambridge has a feel all of its own. There is always an endless amount of entertainment from sporting events to art shows, museum, comedy shows, the list goes on. Harvard Square can also offer a day of shopping and a variety of places to eat. Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA)
Anywhere you need to go is accessible by the MBTA. The subway system in Boston was the North America’s first subway system, opening in 1897, and is nicknamed “The T.” The T and Bus routes are easily accessible from all areas in and around Boston. There are great deals on monthly passes for students which give access to the city and its surrounding areas. www.mbta.com
