The Advanced Human Genetics course is the major didactic component of the Harvard Medical School Genetics Residency Program. The course meets once weekly for 2 hours over two semesters and combines basic science and medical education in the areas of cytogenetics, molecular genetics, quantitative genetics, biochemical genetics and medical genetics. Lectures are provided by invited faculty at Harvard and neighboring institutions. Residents and fellows are required to attend class and pass board-style exams based on the course materials.  Problem-based workshops are offered in the summer.
